Technique Description | A bush hammer is a masonry tool used to texture stone and concrete. Bush hammers exist in many forms, from simple hand-held hammers to large electric machines, but the basic functional property of the tool is always the same - a grid of conical or pyramidal points at the end of a large metal slug. The final finish will vary depending on the stress to apply to the concrete when hammering and the tool applied. |

Exposed Aggregates Concrete Pavement
Other Names | Deactivated Surface or Washed Concrete Pavement |
Technique Description | This technique is performed by pouring concrete, smoothed and leveled, which is applied by spraying a disabling solution which is left to act. Once the chemical reaction has done its work, aggregates reappear at the surface of the slab after spraying high pressure water to it, to remove laitance concrete. A protective resin, water and oil repellent, is then applied after drying to protect from stains. |

Brushed Concrete Pavement
Other Names | |
Technique Description | A brushed finish is obtained usually by pulling a brush over the surface of the fresh concrete, after the surface has been leveled. A commonly used piece of equipment for producing a brush finish is the combined skip float and brush. By applying mechanical brush the day after concrete has been placed, a different finish rather than the manual brush will be achieved. |

Colored Concrete Pavement
Other Names | Stained Concrete Pavement |
Technique Description | Both of them, acid stains and water-based stains (typically a blend of acrylic polymers and pigments) penetrate the concrete to produce permanent color, ranging from translucent to opaque depending on the product. Both types of stain can be applied to new or old and plain or integrally colored concrete. The chemical product is applied either manually or by mechanic tools over the old/new surface being deeply washed after the mentioned process so the treatment is done before the pavement receives the sealer. |
